Steve Wright, who has been charged with the kidnapping and murder of 17-year-old Victoria Hall in Suffolk back in 1999, has been deemed fit to enter a plea, according to Suffolk Police. Victoria was last seen near her house in Trimley St Mary after leaving a nightclub in Felixstowe.

The teenager disappeared on 19 September 1999 and her body was found five days later by a dog walker in a water-filled ditch in Creeting St Peter, located 25 miles away from where she was last seen. Steve Wright, 66, who previously resided on London Road in Ipswich, is scheduled to appear in Ipswich Crown Court on 2 December following a brief hearing on Tuesday.

In addition to the charges of kidnapping and murder, Wright is also accused of attempting to kidnap a 22-year-old woman on 18 September 1999. Victoria had been out with a friend at the Bandbox nightclub in Felixstowe on the night of 18 September 1999. The girls left the club around 01:00 BST and went their separate ways at approximately 02:20, which was the last time Victoria was seen alive.

When Victoria did not return home, her parents, Lorinda and Graham Hall, realized she was missing and a search was initiated. Tragically, Victoria’s body was found in Creeting St Peter on 24 September. The case has left the community in shock for over two decades.

The court proceedings have brought back painful memories for the Hall family and the local community. The details of Victoria’s disappearance and the subsequent discovery of her body have haunted many in the area for years. The upcoming trial will hopefully provide some closure and justice for Victoria and her loved ones.

It is important to remember Victoria Hall and the impact her tragic death had on those who knew her. The passage of time does not diminish the pain of losing a loved one, and for the Hall family, the trial represents a chance to seek justice and find some sense of peace after years of uncertainty.
