When the RTL show “Die Puppenstars” returns with the third season in autumn 2022 after a five-year break, it will do so under a prominent new leadership. As the broadcaster has now revealed, Thomas Gottschalk (72) will act as the new moderator in the upcoming episodes. He inherits comedian Mirja Boes (50), who had led through the two previous editions.

The jury for season three, which will consist of three episodes, was also revealed at the same time. As with season one (2016) and two (2017), comedian Max Giermann (46) and puppeteer Martin Reinl (46) are again at the jury desk. On the other hand, comedian Gaby Köster (60) is replaced: In her place, the “Kakerlak” doll is now at the start, which Carsten Haffke brings to life.

Together with changing guest judges, they decide who has delivered the best puppeteer performance at the end of the respective episode. The “puppet star of the evening” is chosen for each edition, and the prize money is 20,000 euros. The three episodes with Gottschalk will be recorded on August 3rd, 6th and 10th.

Gottschalk will also be seen in another program beforehand on RTL. Together with his “Supernasen” colleague Mike Krüger (70), he is given the big anniversary show “40 Years of Supernasen”. The event runs on August 20th from 8:15 p.m., moderated by Laura Wontorra (33).
