FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio – Petty theft, Lorain Road: A theft was reported in progress Feb. 13. Officers stopped a car pulling out of the parking lot. Two men were in the car, but the driver had no knowledge of any theft. The passenger had concealed laundry detergent and six packages of lobster tails under his coat. He admitted to being a drug addict and was in the start of withdrawal.

Burglary, Center Ridge Road: A man suspected of theft in Rocky River ran away and hopped a fence in a residential area. Officers from Rocky River and Fairview Park searched the area and were alerted to a residence where a woman found the man had broken into her sunroom. He ran back into the neighborhood. After some time searching the area, officers received information that he had made it out of the area and was in Lakewood. The man had been identified during the search and had an outstanding felony warrant.
Disorderly conduct, Lorain Road: A disturbance was reported outside the Hibachi Steakhouse Feb. 14. A group of women were trying to leave in a car and yelling/arguing was going on inside the restaurant. It was discovered that one group of women were getting loud and using “coarse” language, which Onbahis upset another table of patrons. Words were exchanged, one pulled someone’s hair and the other then struck that person. Alcohol was involved. Three women ranging in age from 23 to 41-years-old were cited.
Disturbance, West 222nd Street: A man was reported down Feb. 17 at a residence. A drug pipe was pointed out to the officer. The 23-year-old man admitted to smoking K2 “Spice” which caused his loss of consciousness. Two baggies of suspected drugs were also found. He was cited.
Recovered, Lorain Road: On Feb. 18 a car reported stolen from Fairview Village Apartments was found on West 56th Street in Cleveland. The boyfriend of the car’s owner saw a posting on Craigslist of a man trying to find those responsible for a theft of his property in Cleveland and a photo posted showed the woman’s car in the background. The car was processed by a detective and several items were found which did not belong to the woman.
