Etihad Airways has reported a strong performance in August, carrying 1.7 million passengers with an average passenger load factor of 89 percent. This reflects a positive trend during the summer holiday season. Year-to-date, the airline has welcomed 12.0 million passengers, showing a 36 percent increase from the previous year. The rolling 12-month passenger count has exceeded 17 million, marking a significant growth of almost 70 percent compared to 2022.

Despite expanding its capacity, Etihad has maintained a healthy passenger load factor of 89 percent in August. The airline’s operating fleet has also seen growth, with 95 aircraft in operation compared to 79 in the same period last year. Etihad added two A321neos to its fleet in August, bringing the total number of new aircraft introduced in the past 12 months to 16. Additionally, the airline has expanded its passenger destinations by 10 compared to last year.

CEO of Etihad Airways, Antonoaldo Neves, expressed satisfaction with the airline’s performance, noting the significant increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year. He attributed this growth to the dedication and hard work of the entire company in achieving expansion goals while maintaining a high load factor of over 86 percent.
