Jamie xx and Robyn have joined forces for a new single called “Life,” which is part of Jamie xx’s upcoming album “In Waves.” The song, released on Monday, is an electropop track designed to get people dancing and is inspired by the vibrant club atmosphere of Ibiza.

Robyn expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Jamie is such a brilliant creator, I’m excited to be part of his album.” The track features Robyn’s signature style with Jamie xx’s unique beat-making influence, creating a catchy and dance-worthy tune.

In a statement, Jamie xx shared his experience of working with Robyn, mentioning that they have been collaborating and spending time together for years. He expressed his gratitude for Robyn’s contribution to “In Waves,” thanking her for bringing the track to life.

“Life” marks Robyn’s first new song since her cover of Neneh Cherry’s “Buffalo Stance” in 2022. The track features her iconic vocals repeating the line, “You’re giving me life, let’s fuck it up tonight,” adding to the energetic and lively vibe of the song.

Apart from Robyn, “In Waves” includes collaborations with artists such as the Avalanches, Panda Bear, Kelsey Lu, Honey Dijon, choreographer Oona Doherty, and Jamie xx’s xx bandmates Oliver Sim and Romy. The trio reunites on the track “Waited All Day,” adding to the diverse and dynamic lineup of the album.

Jamie xx has previously released singles like “Baddy on the Floor” and “Treat Each Other Right” from “In Waves,” marking his return to the music scene after nearly a decade. The album will also include a bonus disc featuring standalone tracks like “Kill Dem,” “Let’s Do It Again,” and “It’s So Good,” as well as new songs “Do Something” and “F U” featuring Erykah Badu.

The tracklist for “In Waves” includes a range of songs that showcase Jamie xx’s eclectic musical style, from upbeat dance tracks like “Wanna” and “Treat Each Other Right” to more introspective tunes like “Breather” and “Falling Together.” The album is set to be released on Sept. 20, offering fans a diverse and exciting listening experience.
