The CGT union of the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) called, Thursday March 21, a strike on Thursday April 4 to demand the payment in the coming months of salary increases negotiated with management. The group’s first union, the CGT-RATP, had not signed the increase of 100 euros gross per month proposed by management in February and is demanding a “return to the negotiating table”.
“Despite the management’s media plan, on the famous “100 euros” per month salary increase at the RATP, the agents will only see the color, in reality, after Christmas,” criticizes the union in a communicated. “RATP agents need this money now! », he adds.
The increase proposed on February 7 by RATP, as part of mandatory annual negotiations for 2024, represents an average increase of 4.2% for all employees in the historic RATP perimeter in Ile-de-France, i.e. 1,300 euros over a year’s salary, according to the public group. This measure equivalent to 15 index points comes in two stages with a first increase which was planned for June 1, followed by another on December 1.
At the end of January, the CGT had filed a strike notice extending from February to September, therefore covering the period of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The union, for its part, demanded a salary increase of 50 index points “for all” and an indexation of salaries to inflation, as well as negotiations to move to 32 hours of weekly work.
At the same time, in mid-March the UNSA and FO unions suspended their participation in negotiations concerning the Olympic Games and other subjects, such as taking into account travel discomfort or arduousness at work, further increasing the pressure on the direction as the competition approaches.
