Thieves Caught on Video Breaking into Car of Ghanaians Traveling from Accra to Dubai

A group of philanthropists and tourists from Wanderlust Ghana experienced a setback in their epic journey from Accra to Dubai when thieves broke into one of their cars. The incident occurred on Thursday, September 26th, in Krefeld, Germany, as the team was making their way through Europe.

The burglars stole valuable items, including the passport of a team member, prompting the group to report the incident to the German police. Kwame Peprah, a member of the team, shared his experience in a Facebook post the following day, expressing concern that the stolen passport could jeopardize the team member’s participation in the journey.

“I was dressing up when Saka knocked on my door that the receptionist had called him. The Tacoma has been burgled. Someone smashed the front window and took lots of stuff, including my wallet and possibly Kwame’s passport,” Peprah recounted. He further explained that they were cooperating with the German police to file a report and navigate the necessary processes.

The loss of the passport could potentially halt the team member’s participation in the trip, as obtaining new visas along the route might prove to be a challenging endeavor. Despite the setback, Wanderlust Ghana remains determined to continue their overland expedition from Accra to Dubai, showcasing Ghana and promoting tourism along the way.

About Wanderlust Ghana

Wanderlust Ghana is a group of dedicated philanthropists and tourists who have previously embarked on remarkable journeys to promote Ghana and adventure travel. In August of last year, the core members of the group successfully traveled from Accra to London by road, putting Ghana on the map as a destination for epic journeys.

Now, with the backing of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the team is on a new expedition from Accra to Paris, Dubai, and Cape Town. Their current journey aims to cover over 30,000 kilometers across 30 countries in just 30 days, showcasing the beauty and diversity of the African continent.

Despite the unfortunate incident in Germany, the team remains resilient and focused on their mission to promote Ghana and inspire others to embark on their own adventures. The support of the local community and authorities has been instrumental in helping the team navigate challenges along the way.

As the team continues their journey towards Dubai, they hope to raise awareness about responsible travel, cultural exchange, and the importance of preserving the environment. Their commitment to showcasing the best of Ghana and Africa shines through their perseverance and determination to overcome obstacles.
