West Ham Secures £25 Million Deal for Palmeiras Winger Luis Guilherme
West Ham United has successfully secured a £25 million deal to sign Palmeiras winger Luis Guilherme. The agreement, valued at €30 million, marks the first signing of the Julen Lopetegui era at the London Stadium.
The 18-year-old Guilherme, who is considered one of the most promising young talents in Brazil, was also being pursued by the Saudi Pro League. Despite the competition, West Ham remained persistent and ultimately reached an agreement with Palmeiras for €23 million (£19.5 million) upfront, along with €7 million in potential add-ons. Additionally, there is a 20% sell-on clause included in the deal.
Looking ahead, West Ham is aiming to make six to eight signings during the summer transfer window. The club has shown interest in disrupting Bayer Leverkusen’s pursuit of Girona midfielder Aleix García, who is reportedly close to joining the German side. Lopetegui is particularly focused on bolstering the team’s defense with two new centre-backs, as well as adding depth in the forward position.
In their search for reinforcements, West Ham is also in the market for a No. 9 striker, a left-back, and a left winger. With the transfer window in full swing, fans can expect more updates on the club’s recruitment efforts in the coming weeks.
