Far-right videographer Papacito’s channel has been shut down after several warnings, YouTube announced in a statement released Friday, June 9.

The influencer had released a video at the end of May in which he attacked the unlabeled mayor of Montjoi, a small village in Tarn-et-Garonne. Christian Eurgal, 75, was placed under police protection after being the subject of death threats sent by email, on the town hall’s telephone message or on social networks.

In the vicinity of this small town of 190 inhabitants, inscriptions on the roads indicating the direction of the residence of the mayor, with the message, accompanied by arrows, “Eurgal, weasel of Montjoi”, told the ‘elected.

The threats began after a lengthy video, viewed more than 478,000 times on YouTube, emerged in which Papacito sided with a village pig farmer in a dispute with his British neighbor over the use of a path . The influencer, who had already made a first video on the case several months earlier, accused Mr. Eurgal of having favored the British owner at the expense of the breeder, which the mayor refutes.

According to La Dépêche du Midi, the breeder had been sentenced in September 2022 to a suspended fine of 5,000 euros for having physically prevented the city councilor from leaving the town hall in order to force him to sign a document. The police had to intervene.
