Strong thunderstorms will still be expected on Sunday, with marked showers in the South-East, as far as the Rhône valley and towards the Alps, according to Météo-France forecasts. They will be in the wake of the stormy deterioration expected in the evening and the night of Saturday from the Pyrenees to the south of the Massif Central, continues the meteorological institute which warns that they could be strong in places with some hailstorms and wind gusts.

Three departments have been placed on orange alert: Alpes-Maritimes, Haute-Corse and Corse-du-Sud. The public body specifies: “These storms will organize themselves in successive waves, interspersed with good periods of calm. These stormy waves will be for some very virulent and can give very strong rainfall intensities and very strong gusts of wind, greater than 100 kilometers per hour. Regarding the Alpes-Maritimes department, “the coast seems more exposed to the risk of severe storms than the hinterland”.

On Sunday, thunderstorms will also be accompanied by hail and heavy precipitation. In the afternoon, the weather will remain rainy. Only a few thunderclaps will remain possible. The sky will become brighter around the Gulf of Lion, but at the cost of a strengthening of the mistral and the tramontane.

From southwest to northeast, the sky will be overcast in the morning. The storms of the night will evacuate Occitanie and showers will resist on the Aquitaine coast and in the North-East. Sunny spells will develop in the afternoon. Further west, the sky will be variable. Cloudy periods will bring a few showers.

The minimums will show 10 to 15 degrees in general, 17 to 21 degrees on the shores of the Mediterranean and up to 20 to 24 degrees in Corsica. Maximums will not exceed 17 to 24 degrees. They will reach 22 to 26 degrees in the South-East, 29 to 36 degrees in Corsica.
