The Formula One paddock made its final stop before the summer shutdown at historic Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix. Both Lance and Fernando shared their thoughts after Qualifying.

Fernando qualified in P8, while Lance will start from P15 after a wet Qualifying session at Spa-Francorchamps. The day in Spa was soaked with damp conditions affecting both Free Practice 3 and Qualifying.

Lance had an off in the final practice session, causing a red flag and minimal running due to heavy rain. The mechanics worked hard to repair Lance’s car in time for Qualifying, using Intermediate tires throughout the session as the track remained wet.

Fernando made it to Q3 with the ninth-fastest time, while Lance finished in 15th place. Fernando will move up one spot on the starting grid due to Max Verstappen’s penalty. Lance thanked the team for their quick repair work and expressed struggles with grip and balance in Qualifying.

Fernando expressed satisfaction with his performance in Qualifying and mentioned the challenges of mixed weather conditions. Team Principal Mike Krack praised the team’s efforts and expressed readiness for the race, expecting it to be dry.

During Friday’s practice sessions, both drivers used all three dry Pirelli compounds to familiarize themselves with the track’s resurfaced areas. The team focused on learning about updates to the AMR24 in Hungary, preparing for rain in Qualifying and warmer conditions for the race.

Lance enjoyed driving at Spa and highlighted the importance of getting laps in during practice sessions. Fernando emphasized the need to analyze data and make decisions quickly in case of changing weather conditions.

The next session for Lance and Fernando will be the final practice before Qualifying, with rain forecasted for the latter. Fans can join the team’s membership for exclusive access, insights, experiences, and more.
