Patrick Broe, a 31-year-old Australian, is set to become a key member of Team Visma | Lease a Bike’s sports management team starting in October. Born in Brisbane, Australia, Broe grew up in London and studied law before working as a lawyer, following in the footsteps of his wife.

Broe’s passion for cycling was ignited in 2011 when fellow Australian Cadel Evans won the Tour de France, sparking a newfound interest in the sport in his home country. This led him to create the Lantern Rouge YouTube channel and later the Lantern Rouge Cycling Podcast, which gained popularity, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moving to Europe with his wife due to the time difference between Australia and Europe, Broe found himself fully immersed in the cycling world. His journey with Team Visma | Lease a Bike began in 2022, starting with video analysis and eventually evolving into a consultant role. Now, he is set to join the team’s sports management team alongside four other members.

In his new role, Broe will focus on developing race strategies, analyzing competition, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and scouting for young talented riders who align with the team’s values. His goal is to help the team secure victories in prestigious races like the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix while aiming to be part of a team that makes history in Grand Tours.

Excited about the project, Broe is proud to be part of a team with a shared vision of achieving greatness in the sport. He appreciates the professional and collaborative atmosphere within Team Visma | Lease a Bike, noting the dedication of everyone involved in striving for success.

Broe’s transition to the Netherlands and the team has been smooth, with him enjoying the open and honest culture of the organization. He admires the professionalism and teamwork displayed by all members, highlighting the supportive and friendly environment that fosters growth and excellence.

As Broe prepares to take on his new role within Team Visma | Lease a Bike, his passion for cycling and dedication to achieving sporting milestones shine through. With his expertise and enthusiasm, he is poised to make significant contributions to the team’s success and help shape the future of cycling.
