Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Luke Browning secured pole position at the rain-affected Silverstone Qualifying, edging out Max Esterson from Jenzer Motorsport.
At the start of the session, heavy rain caught the drivers off guard as they were preparing their slick tires. Despite this, Noel León from Van Amersfoort Racing set the fastest time, followed by Alexander Dunne from MP Motorsport and Gabriele Minì from PREMA Racing.
As the rain intensified, most drivers returned to the pit lane, except for a few like Minì and Dino Beganovic who had not yet completed a lap. The downpour continued, preventing any improvements in lap times and forcing all cars back into the pits.
In the final minutes of the session, the rain subsided, allowing Browning to climb from 13th to first place with a time of 1:44.992, just ahead of Esterson and Sami Meguetounif from Trident.
Leonardo Fornaroli initially set the fastest time but dropped to fourth, followed by Laurens van Hoepen from ART Grand Prix. Charlie Wurz from Jenzer took sixth place, with Christian Mansell and Nikola Tsolov from ART Grand Prix in seventh and eighth respectively. Callum Voisin from Rodin Motorsport finished ninth, while Matías Zagazeta from Jenzer completed the top 10.
Arvid Lindblad from PREMA Racing was the highest-placed British driver in 11th. León fell to 12th, securing the reverse grid pole position for the Sprint Race on Saturday morning.
The FIA Formula 3 Silverstone Qualifying provided a thrilling spectacle as changing weather conditions influenced the outcome of the session.
