Dennis Wise has bid farewell to his role at Serie A club Como just before their return to the top flight after 21 years. He seemed to take a parting shot at manager Cesc Fabregas in a statement on social media.

Wise joined Como in 2019 as a technical consultant and later became the CEO in February 2021. However, he mentioned in his statement that the club has decided to follow Fabregas’ direction. He wished the team, Fabregas, and the new recruitment team success in their journey towards Serie A status and European football.

Fabregas, who recently returned to his role as manager after completing the UEFA Pro Licence, is also a part owner of the club along with Thierry Henry. The team has added significant experience to its squad with the signings of Pepe Reina and Raphael Varane, both former World Cup winners.

Wise expressed his gratitude for the opportunities and experiences he had at Como, acknowledging the support from the team, coaching staff, and fans. He highlighted the progress made during his time at the club, including achieving promotion back to Serie A.

With Fabregas at the helm and the recent signings of Reina and Varane, Como is gearing up for the new season with high hopes. The departure of Wise marks the end of an era but also signals a new chapter for the club as they strive for success in Serie A and beyond.
