International Success for Souček, Coufal, and Kudus
Tomáš Souček, Vladimír Coufal, and Mohammed Kudus celebrated victories in their respective international matches on Monday night.
The Czech duo of Souček and Coufal played a key role in helping their team secure a 2-1 win against North Macedonia in Hradec Králové. Souček earned his 69th senior cap, while Coufal marked his 42nd appearance as they secured their fifth consecutive victory. Patrik Schick opened the scoring for the Czech team, and Antonin Barák sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal.
The focus is now on the UEFA Euro 2024, with the Czech Republic set to kick off their campaign against Portugal on June 18, followed by matches against Georgia and Turkey in Group F.
Meanwhile, Kudus played a part in Ghana’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match. The game saw a back-and-forth battle, with Ghana ultimately emerging victorious and moving to the top of Group I in the African qualification section.
Ghana’s win puts them on nine points from four qualifying matches, placing them ahead of Madagascar and Comoros. The qualification campaign will conclude in October 2025, with the top team from each group advancing to the finals in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Additionally, Josh Briggs was a part of the Northern Ireland U19s’ 1-1 friendly draw with Slovakia. The team is gearing up for the UEFA U19 European Championships next month, which will be hosted in Northern Ireland.
