A Northern Ireland man, Declan McFerran, has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest time in assembling Mr. Potato Head. The 20-year-old enthusiast in gymnastics, taekwondo, and piano dedicated four hours to breaking the previous record and succeeded with a time of 5.15 seconds, beating the previous record by 0.28 seconds. McFerran shared that he was inspired by the challenge and was thrilled to have broken the record.

The record for assembling Mr. Potato Head has seen several changes over the years, with the latest record being set by a 13-year-old from the UK in 2021. However, McFerran’s technique involved starting with the body, hat, and legs simultaneously, followed by the eyes, nose, and moustache in a swift motion, and finishing with the ears and arms. He attempted the challenge as part of a series of Guinness World Record attempts on YouTube, where he also achieved a fast time in typing the alphabet backwards blindfolded.

McFerran expressed his excitement at holding a Guinness World Record and mentioned his plans to attempt more records in the future. He described the title as one of his best achievements and is looking forward to pursuing more records with his fast fingers.
