French international Paul Pogba has been provisionally suspended for doping, the Italian anti-doping agency announced to Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Monday September 11.

The player tested positive for testosterone, confirming information from Italian media Corriere della Serra and Gazzetta dello Sport. This control was carried out on the sidelines of the league match between his club, Juventus Turin, and Udinese, on August 20.

The footballer, whose career was disrupted by a long knee injury, returned to Juventus in the summer of 2022 after six seasons at Manchester United.

Testosterone is a hormone, particularly used in a medical context to treat serious pathologies, but is considered a doping product in sport.
