Proteas Women’s Squad Announced for Tour to India

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has unveiled a 16-player squad for the Proteas Women’s upcoming tour to India. The tour will kick off with three ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and a one-off Test match from 16 June to 01 July in Bengaluru and Chennai.

The squad includes the return of players like Nondumiso Shangase and Mieke de Ridder, who are back in action after recovering from injuries. Additionally, top-order batter Tazmin Brits is set to make a comeback after undergoing knee surgery in mid-April.

Unfortunately, some players like Lara Goodall, Chloé Tryon, and Ayanda Hlubi will miss the tour due to ongoing rehabilitation for their respective injuries. The team will undergo a pre-tour camp in Tshwane from 04 – 08 June to prepare for the challenging conditions in India.

Proteas Women’s interim head coach, Dillon du Preez, expressed his excitement for the tour and emphasized the team’s focus on improving their performance and consistency. With the upcoming World Cup in sight, the tour to India serves as a crucial opportunity for the team to fine-tune their skills and strategies.
