Sarah Bovy had an impressive performance at the Le Mans 24 Hours race. A heavy rainstorm caused a four-hour safety car phase during the night. Despite the challenging conditions, Bovy managed to run as high as third place before handing over to Michelle Gatting.
The Iron Dames Lamborghini, driven by Gatting and Rahel Frey, made a strong comeback in the race, moving back into contention for a top-five finish. However, the rain disrupted a significant portion of the race, with the safety car bunching up the pack halfway through.
Bovy took over driving duties at the 12th hour mark and completed an entire triple stint behind the pace car. She climbed up to fourth place in the LMGT3 class as her rivals pitted for driver changes or brake services. With just over eight hours remaining, Bovy handed over the car to Gatting as the rain stopped and teams prepared for a restart. After almost four hours, the race resumed with Iron Dames in eighth place. Gatting will be in charge of the restart with eight hours left in the competition.
