Soccer Aid is back with a bang as celebrities and former professional footballers gear up for the annual charity match to raise funds for Unicef. With over £90m raised since its inception in 2006, this year’s event promises to be a thrilling spectacle with a star-studded lineup.
Last year, the World XI emerged victorious with a 4-2 win over England at Old Trafford. This time around, Stamford Bridge will play host to the action-packed event. Mauricio Pochettino will manage the World XI once again, while Frank Lampard will lead the charge for England.
The teams have been finalized, with a mix of football legends and celebrities set to grace the pitch. Former Chelsea player Eden Hazard will make a comeback alongside Roberto Carlos, Alessandro Del Piero, and Usain Bolt, who will captain the World XI. On the other side, Jill Scott will captain England, with Joe Cole, Theo Walcott, and Jack Wilshere also in the lineup.
Coaches, legends, and celebrities from both teams add to the excitement of the match, making it a must-watch event for all football enthusiasts. The action kicks off on Sunday, 9 June at 7.30pm at Stamford Bridge, London.
