As the 2024 Olympic Games approach, USC is gearing up to send a record-breaking number of Trojan Olympians to compete in Paris. With a total of 64 Trojan Olympians this year, USC will have athletes representing 26 different nations across nine sports. Since 1912, USC has consistently claimed at least one gold medal in every summer Olympic Games.
Among the 64 Olympians representing USC in Paris, 31 are first-time Olympians, while 33 are returning Olympians who have already amassed a combined total of 18 medals. This impressive track record helps USC maintain its status of having more overall medals (326) and more gold medals (153) than any other university in the United States.
In addition to the diverse representation of nations and sports, this year’s Olympic Games will feature the debut of the first Haitian Trojan, Chris Borzor in track & field, and the first South African representative, Ashley Erasmus, in incoming track & field athlete. USC will have a strong presence in track & field with 20 Trojans competing, along with 15 swimmers, 14 water polo players, six beach volleyball players, four rowers, and two soccer players. There will also be one USC athlete competing in basketball, diving, and indoor volleyball.
With seven Olympians this year, USC boasts the most men’s water polo players competing in a single Games. The total of 64 USC competitors surpasses the number of Olympians from 159 of the 203 National Olympic Committee delegations participating in Paris. This marks the seventh consecutive Summer Games with at least 40 Trojan Olympians.
In the previous Tokyo Games, USC set a record with 67 Trojans competing, bringing the total number of USC Olympians to 512, the highest among all U.S. universities. With 31 first-time Olympians in this year’s cohort, USC’s total Olympians count would rise to 543. The list includes all non-coaching and non-alternate competitors who have attended at least one class at USC before, during, or after their Olympic appearance.
Fans can follow USC’s Paris Olympians on the official website, with a complete roster, daily event schedule, results, updated medal count, athlete biographies, news releases, and USC’s Olympic history. USC Athletics will provide the latest updates on social media platforms throughout the Games.

A notable presence in the USC team is Louise Hansson, Dylan Carter, Micah Christenson, Kaleigh Gilchrist, Kostas Genidounias, Andre De Grasse, and Amalie Iuel, who are all returning for their third Olympic appearance.
In addition to the competitive spirit, USC fans will have the opportunity to witness several 2024 Olympians in action on campus. The USC swimming & diving team welcomes back Minna Abraham, Krzysztof Chmielewski, Michal Chmielewski, Anicka Delgado, and Artem Selin, along with incoming diver Kate Miller. Other returning Trojans include Tilly Kearns in women’s water polo and Yemi John and Ashley Erasmus in track & field.
