Starbucks® Partners with NHS Charities for Largest Festive Coffee Giveaway
Starbucks is back with its annual NHS festive giveaway, spreading cheer to the hardworking staff of the National Health Service. On December 5th, NHS workers can head to their local Starbucks store and enjoy a free Tall beverage by simply presenting a valid NHS ID. This heartwarming gesture, now in its fifth year, is a collaboration between Starbucks and NHS Charities Together to express gratitude for the dedication and tireless efforts of NHS employees.
Spreading Joy Across Hospitals
This year, Starbucks is taking their generosity to new heights by distributing 25,000 Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso™ cans, 42,000 Starbucks Premium Instant sachets, and a selection of delectable baked goods to participating hospitals. Additionally, 10 ambulance service stations are being included in the giveaway for the first time ever, ensuring that even more NHS staff can partake in the festive treats.
Supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing
NHS Charities Together, the national charity dedicated to enhancing the NHS’s capabilities and ensuring equitable healthcare access, plays a crucial role in promoting the mental health and wellbeing of NHS workers. By funding various support initiatives like dedicated rest areas, gym equipment, green spaces, counseling services, and helplines, the charity helps uplift the spirits of healthcare workers across the UK.
A Musical Celebration
To commemorate the fifth anniversary of the giveaway, the renowned Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir will be serenading emergency service staff at the London Ambulance Service HQ with festive tunes. This musical tribute aims to bring additional joy and convey a heartfelt thank you to those on the frontlines of emergency care.
In a statement, Alex Rayner, the general manager at Starbucks UK, expressed pride in continuing this tradition of appreciation for NHS staff. He emphasized Starbucks’ commitment to fostering a sense of community and providing a moment of respite for healthcare workers through this initiative.
Ellie Orton OBE, CEO of NHS Charities Together, highlighted the impactful partnership with Starbucks UK, which has enabled significant investments in projects like the Greener Communities Fund. She emphasized the importance of acknowledging the challenges faced by NHS staff during the demanding winter season and expressed hope that the Starbucks Free Coffee Giveaway would serve as a reminder of their valued contributions.
NHS staff can choose from a wide array of beverages, including festive favorites like the Toffee Nut Latte, Gingerbread Cream Iced Chai Tea Latte, and Caramel Waffle Cream Iced Latte. This gesture of appreciation is a small token of gratitude for the immense sacrifices and dedication shown by NHS workers each day.
