Worldwalker Games Announces Conclusion of Wildermyth with Final Expansion
Worldwalker Games, the studio behind the popular procedurally generated RPG Wildermyth, has announced that the game will be concluding with its final expansion. The game, known for its narrative quests and unique storytelling mechanics, has captivated players with its immersive gameplay experience.
The upcoming Omenroad expansion will feature a roguelike-style challenge mode and a new story campaign titled Walk in the Unlight. While the expansion will introduce new bosses and challenging fights, it also signifies the end of development for Wildermyth. Co-owner Nate Austin confirmed the news on May 29, stating that the studio will be going into hibernation for the time being.
Despite the conclusion of Wildermyth, Austin reassured fans that the team will continue to support the game by fixing critical bugs and porting it to other platforms. Additionally, the studio plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign for a live recording of the game’s music and integrate it into the game, as well as provide French and Spanish translations for the Omenroad expansion.
While it is a bittersweet moment for fans of Wildermyth, Austin expressed gratitude for the support and success of the game, stating, “Wildermyth has been wonderful, but nothing goes on forever.” The studio remains hopeful for future projects and promises to keep fans updated on their next endeavor.
As players prepare to bid farewell to Wildermyth, they can cherish the memories and stories created in the game for years to come. Despite the end of an era, the legacy of Wildermyth will continue to live on in the hearts of its dedicated player base.
