The crash left a girl of 15 years dead and a woman in critical conditions, Nassau police stated.

Officials said that Arlin Javier Aguilera (34), was taken into custody on the spot and will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead Sunday on charges of second degree vehicular manslaughter and second-degree assault, as well as driving while intoxicated.

The names of the victims of Sunday’s crash were not released by police, but they said that the teenage victim was a passenger in a white 2018 Audi Q5 SUV with five occupants at time of the 10 :58 p.m. accident. At 11:45, she was declared dead.

According to police, the Audi driver was a 38 year-old woman and is currently in critical condition. Police said that the other three passengers sustained less severe injuries.

According to police, the Audi was traveling southbound on Peninsula Boulevard from Edward Avenue when it collided into a blue Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck that Aguilera was driving northbound on Peninsula Boulevard.

Aguilera’s truck passenger and Aguilera were both treated for minor injuries.

The scene was also attended to by the Woodmere Fire Department, and two ambulances from Hatzolah.
