Castrop-Rauxel (dpa/lnw) – A motorcyclist fell and died while overtaking in Castrop-Rauxel. The 50-year-old from Bochum wanted to overtake a car on a ring road on Saturday afternoon when he suddenly lost control of his vehicle, the police reported. He went off the road in a slight curve to the left and crashed into a power pole. He suffered such serious injuries that he died in hospital shortly afterwards. The cause of the accident was initially unclear. The car that the motorcyclist wanted to overtake is said to be a black SUV. The driver could not be identified at first, it was said.
