Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the corona incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia as 311.0 on Friday morning. The day before, 342.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants had been reported within seven days. However, NRW is still above the national average of currently 243.5. A week ago, the incidence in NRW was 362.1.

In the most populous federal state, 9563 confirmed new Covid 19 cases were added within 24 hours. In addition, 46 new deaths related to the corona virus were registered.

However, the information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI – mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
