The health insurance company Barmer has compiled a large amount of data on diseases. This “morbidity and social atlas” also shows which groups of people are affected and to what extent. This is good news, especially for the Tübingen region.
Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In no other region in Germany are people healthier than in the district of Tübingen, according to the Barmer health insurance company. Just like the Bavarian district of Freising, the district of Tübingen bears only 70 percent of the average disease burden compared to the federal territory, as can be seen from the so-called morbidity and social atlas of the Barmer health insurance company. It is to be presented on Wednesday (10.30 a.m.) with figures for the southwest and can be viewed by everyone on the Internet. Based on the data of insured persons, the atlas shows how badly people are affected by illness in Baden-Württemberg, among other places.
For the atlas, Barmer claims to have evaluated the data from the inpatient and outpatient treatments of its insured persons from the years 2018 to 2020. Of these, around 777,000 lived in Baden-Württemberg. The numbers should be updated continuously. The study is representative, said Plötze.
