Fürth (dpa/lby) – Sales in Bavarian industry increased by more than 14 percent in the first nine months of this year. The companies generated 308.1 billion euros at home and abroad, as announced by the State Statistical Office in Fürth on Tuesday. However, this is not based on a boom, which is mainly due to the high inflation. The increase is largely due to the sharp rise in prices, so that the positive development is overstated, the statement said. The inflation rate in Bavaria was 11 percent in October.

According to the information, the order situation of the companies has deteriorated. Adjusted for the price increases, the value of orders in the manufacturing sector has fallen by a good five percent so far this year, according to the state office. Nevertheless, the companies have continued to hire employees. At the end of September, almost 1.2 million people were employed in industry, a good 15,800 more than a year earlier.
