Stassfurt (dpa/sa) – A play entitled “Trust yourself!” is intended to address children’s rights and physical self-determination and to prevent sexual abuse. The play is part of the nationwide initiative “Trust yourself!”. It is about educating girls and boys between the ages of eight and twelve about their rights, boosting their self-confidence and informing them where they can find help if they are attacked.

Saxony-Anhalt’s Education Minister Eva Feußner (CDU) explained: “The extent of sexualized violence against children is still high, and there are also a large number of unreported cases. In order to counteract this effectively, everyone must be brought on board and sensitized: schools, teachers , students, parents and counseling centers.” The initiative “Trust yourself!” make a valuable contribution to empowering children.
