Dresden (dpa/sn) – The panel doctors in Saxony are demanding financial support for medical practices because of the sharp rise in energy prices. The outpatient physicians have so far not been taken into account at all in the aid programs, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) announced on Friday. Medical practices would also have to be heated this winter and medical equipment operated.

The federal and state governments had decided on an aid package for the healthcare system this week. It is said to be around eight billion euros. The KV called on the federal government to include the resident doctors in the aid programs. Practice closures due to high energy costs and thus endangering the medical care of the population must be prevented.
