Pulsnitz (dpa/sn) – After a two-year Corona break, seven gingerbread shops will again be offering their sweet treats at the 18th gingerbread market in Pulsnitz (Bautzen district) from Friday. According to the organizers, visitors to the market can also buy other handicrafts such as blueprints, pottery and basketry at around 90 stands. The organizers expect tens of thousands of guests on the market square by Sunday, as before the pandemic. Visitors with cars should therefore head for one of the signposted car parks in Großröhrsdorf and commute to Pulsnitz by bus.
In 1558, bakers from Pulsnitz received the privilege to produce gingerbread. The eight gingerbread makers in the city have formed their own guild in Saxony’s bakers’ association.
