Cheese farmer Arne dares the first hug, young farmer Max celebrates the beginning of his very first relationship and cattle farmer Michael N. gets red ears when kissing: things are finally getting down to business on the farms.
In search of the right path to happiness in love, each candidate follows their own feelings. In the case of chatterbox Sascha, it is still the loose tongue that sets the tone. At breakfast with delicious pickles and freshly baked pretzels, the shrewd-eyed guest lets out his latest pick-up line: “The weather is supposed to be like me today – over 30 and hot!” yells the tram mechanic. Loretta, master horseman, is still stacking the verbal tips of her counterpart in the imaginary drawer with the inscription “compliments and funny sayings”. But how long? If you listen closely to the interviews with Loretta, you will already notice a slightly annoyed undertone.
Horse landlord Ulf also likes to let loose a joke from his lips. “If you feel like it, you can sweep the yard,” he winks at his lady-in-waiting, Anna Lina. But she also didn’t fall flat on her lips and regularly ensures a verbal balance in the far north with interspersed sayings and counter-attacks. After the saddle care, it’s off to the show jumping arena. Here Ulf proves that he doesn’t just hold the reins in the house.
While some farmers are just starting their farm week and others are not quite sure where the journey is going, others are already on the home stretch. At cheesemaker Arne in Lower Saxony, lady-in-waiting Antje finally wants “an emotional sign” from her farmer. Arne grins all day long. But the man of 1000 calves hasn’t really come out of himself yet. After a more intensive stable tractor course, which Antje masters with flying colours, the time has finally come. On the feeding meadow away from the hustle and bustle of the stable, Arne puts his arm around his obviously delighted lady-in-waiting for the first time.
Simmental breeder Michael K. and his South African court boy Jan Hendrik, as well as nurse cow owner Jörg and his tractor allergy sufferer Patricia, who is plagued by phobias, are also on the right track emotionally. The latter had to take a Corona break. Back at her loved one’s farm in Hesse, everyone present hugs each other again.
The loving hug is already part of the routine on the farm of young farmer Max in the Palatinate. Together with his queen of hearts Anna, the passionate hobby builder is marching straight towards blissful relationships. Shortly before the end of the farm week, Max digs deep into his bag of tricks. After the ceremonial handover of a finely ground drill with an engraved love dedication, the two lovebirds head to the climbing forest. Then, head over heels in love, Max spreads out a picnic blanket and invites his fair maiden to a strawberry-meets-paprika treat for the palate. All that’s missing is the long-awaited “I do” from the lady-in-waiting. She doesn’t take long to ask either. “Would you like to be my girlfriend now?” asks Max with glassy eyes. Seconds later, the young happiness lies in love and kissing in the arms.
Even in Stade, Lower Saxony, love messenger Cupid is no slouch. When “making a bale”, Michael N. and his Mandy suddenly unintentionally lose their balance and fall arm in arm on the tractor trailer into the made hay bed. A deep look into the eyes, then the two lips stick together. While Mandy’s tongue goes merry-go-round, Michael’s ears turn the color of ripe tomatoes. “It was passionate, so it can go on like this,” Mandy sighs, her lips still trembling. Slowly but surely, the last brakes are being released on many farms.
