According to “TMZ”, Takeoff and his uncle, US rapper Quavo, were playing dice when an altercation with previously unknown men broke out. One of them opened fire and shot Takeoff. The 28-year-old was hit in the head or near the head. In pictures available to the celebrity portal, Quavo can be seen kneeling next to his nephew and apparently calling for help.

Local police confirmed via Twitter that “downtown officers were engaged in a shooting.” “One victim was found dead on arrival,” read a tweet. Two other people were taken to the hospital.

Takeoff was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 1994. He started rapping in 2008 alongside Quavo and his cousin Offset, who is married to Cardi B.
