Jülich (dpa / lnw) – A 46-year-old man died in a head-on collision between two cars in Jülich (Düren district) on Tuesday morning. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, his vehicle collided with the car of a 19-year-old on a federal highway, the police said. A 62-year-old drove into the scene of the accident shortly afterwards and collided with at least one accident car. The two drivers of the cars that collided head-on were trapped, only the fire brigade rushed to pull them out.

The 46-year-old died at the scene of the accident, the 19-year-old and the 62-year-old were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Federal highway 55 was closed for eight hours.
