Munich (dpa / lby) – The Bavarian State Tax Office has warned against text messages about a supposed tax refund and now advises caution. The SMS messages also contain a link that those affected should open to confirm their bank details, as the state office announced on Thursday. Refund notifications are only sent electronically via the “Elster” software or by post after authentication. In addition, the tax administration does not request any information about bank details via SMS.
