Wachtendonk (dpa / lnw) – After the head-on collision of two cars in Wachtendonk on the Lower Rhine, a 63-year-old woman succumbed to her serious injuries in a hospital on Friday. A car with a 71-year-old driver and an oncoming car with a 57-year-old and 63-year-old inmate collided for initially unknown reasons, the police said. All three people were trapped in their cars and had to be cut out by firefighters. According to the police, the injuries to those involved were so severe that they were flown to hospitals in rescue helicopters. The road at the scene of the accident was closed and only reopened in the evening.
