We need clarity and predictability,” he said on Friday after a meeting of the prime ministers with Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) and Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) in Hanover .
At the next meeting, among other things, a decision must be made on the design and start of the gas price brake, explained Rhein. Then it must also be clear when and in what amount one-off payments are planned and what a follow-up solution for the 9-euro ticket looks like. In addition, financing the admission of refugees must be clarified.
On Friday, the Bundestag approved loans totaling 200 billion euros, which are intended to curb the dramatic increase in energy prices. According to a decision by the MPs, the Economic Stabilization Fund, a special fund outside the federal budget, can now take on these debts.
