Kirchentellinsfurt (dpa/lsw) – Because of a basement fire, the fire brigade brought more than 80 residents of a high-rise building in Kirchentellinsfurt (Tübingen district) to safety. As a police spokesman announced on Friday, turntable ladders were also used in the operation on Thursday evening. One person was taken to the hospital for outpatient treatment for suspected smoke inhalation.
Residents were briefly taken to a nearby gym but were able to return to their homes that night. Ultimately, it was just a small fire in the basement of the building, which the fire brigade put out after about an hour, the spokesman said. According to police, the fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. The cause of fire was unclear for the moment. Officials estimate the damage at more than 10,000 euros.
