Monschau (dpa / lnw) – Unknown people blew up an ATM in a Sparkasse branch in Monschau near Aachen. The perpetrators probably triggered the detonation with gas on Friday night, a police spokesman said in the morning. Whether they made booty is still unclear. Significant damage was caused to the building.

The police are looking for the fugitives, the spokesman said. So far there have been no witness statements or clues. According to video recordings, at least one person was in the building, but the cameras then failed. There were no further details at first.
