Munich (dpa / lby) – Unknown perpetrators stole 40,000 euros in cash from a man in Munich from his car. The 67-year-old man had withdrawn the money from a bank on Friday and carried it in a backpack, the police said on Monday. Back in his car, he said, two strangers knocked on his window and drew his attention to several five-euro bills lying on the floor. While he was distracted, a perpetrator is said to have opened the passenger door and taken the backpack with the money. Only after a short drive did the man notice that the backpack was no longer on the passenger seat. The police is asking for hints from the witnesses.
