Schwerin (dpa / mv) – The distribution of roles is clear: the women from the third division handball team SV Grün-Weiß Schwerin are clear outsiders in the second round game for the DHB Cup on Sunday (4 p.m.) against Bundesliga club Buxtehuder SV. “Of course it’s very interesting for us. In addition to the great effect for our players, we can also present our spectators and sponsors with an unknown, national and high-class team,” said President Jens Wichmann before the unequal duel.

However, the BSV is not so unknown in Schwerin, since the second team of the Bundesliga club is also active in the north-east league. Both teams met a month ago. BSV II had the better end with 24:19. “We appreciate the work done in Buxtehude, both in the youth and in the senior division,” praised Wichmann, who gave his club the goal for the season: “It’s seventh place in the third division, which was further streamlined at the beginning of the season. This first non-relegation rank should secured as soon as possible,” he explained.

Although there should be no doubt about the outcome of the game, Wichmann added that they wanted to use the cup game for a small event. “We are planning an Oktoberfest on the day of the match. In addition, our second representation in the Oberliga Ostsee Spree will be playing right before the cup game. The hall will be full, we are very sure of that.” For guest coach Dirk Leun this is a reason for warning. “Schwerin has a loud crowd behind them at home. Nevertheless, our goal is of course to advance to the next round.”
