Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – With a view to a comparatively low rate, the Baden-Württemberg Minister of Health Manfred Lucha (Greens) appeals to older people to have the corona vaccination refreshed a second time. “I very much hope that the adapted vaccines that are now available will help to overcome the reluctance to give booster vaccinations,” said the Green politician on Sunday in Stuttgart. So far, only 20 percent of those over 60 have received their second booster shot. “That’s still not enough, because vaccination is very important for this age group in particular,” said Lucha.

The second booster vaccination against the corona virus is recommended by the Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO), especially for people over 60 years of age. The commission recommends using one of the vaccines adapted to the omicron variant.
