Chemnitz (dpa/sn) – The Chemnitz film festival “Schlingel” offers almost 160 films for children and young people from today. The strips come from 60 countries, including Sweden, Ukraine and Colombia. In the words of festival director Michael Harbauer, this should create “bridges across borders”. At the 27th edition of the festival, the films will be shown in six venues in Chemnitz and Zwickau until October 15th. As a rule, the films should be shown in their original language with German or English subtitles or dubbed live. A jury selected the 2022 vintage from more than 1,600 works. 48 of them are celebrating their German premiere at the festival.
