Stralsund (dpa/mv) – The plaintiff and the city of Ribnitz-Damgarten have not reached an agreement in court in the civil proceedings over the allegation that the barrier was not sufficiently signposted. At the end of October, either a verdict should be announced or further evidence should be requested, said a spokeswoman for the Stralsund district court on Friday.

According to the court, the plaintiff, who comes from Berlin, is claiming compensation for pain and suffering and damages of several thousand euros against Ribnitz-Damgarten. He claims that in early September last year he rode his bike into a closed barrier and fell. According to the plaintiff, the plaintiff’s bicycle and his clothes were damaged by the fall. He himself suffered abrasions and a bruised hand and had to be treated on an outpatient basis.

The plaintiff makes missing references about in the form of signs to the barrier as a reason. In addition, the barrier is not sufficiently multicolored. There have been several accidents and the city was aware of the lack of road safety. The city contradicts this representation and sees the barrier as sufficiently secured.
