Their participation is strongly discouraged. Renaissance will not let its ministers go to summer universities in rebellious France, as revealed by France Info on Monday.
A request that comes directly from Stéphane Séjourné, the secretary general of the presidential party, formerly La République en Marche. According to him, going to Amfis, named after LFI’s summer universities, is “undesirable” at the risk of “bringing credibility” to their opponents.
The entourage of the MEP, quoted by our colleagues, judges that LFI “has always refused the debate” and “questioned our institutions”, an echo of the months of tensions and parliamentary quarrels during the controversial bill on the reform pensions as well as to the declarations of certain rebellious elected officials during the riots after the death of Nahel in Nanterre.
Last summer, three ministers took part in the exercise: Clément Beaune, Olivia Grégoire and Marlène Schiappa had agreed to participate in debates.
