The soccer professional Max Kruse, who was retired from the Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg, will be out for several weeks. The 34-year-old suffered a “serious muscle injury” during training. The demoted attacker could have completed his last training session for the club.
Max Kruse, who was excluded from the VfL Wolfsburg games, now has to take a break from training. The ex-national player, who fell out of favor with coach Niko Kovac, had to stop a training session and suffered a “serious muscle injury” in his left thigh. The Wolfsburg confirmed this to the sports information service on request. Kruse is therefore not available for “several weeks”. He could possibly have already completed his last training session for the Lower Saxony club.
Kovac announced two weeks ago that Kruse, despite a contract, would not play a game for Lower Saxony until the end of the season and justified this measure with his lack of identification with the club. However, the offensive player was still allowed to take part in training. Kruse wanted to keep fit in Wolfsburg in order to leave VfL after the first half of the season and start at a new club in January. But the training will also take place without him until further notice.
Last week he made fun of his suspension on YouTube. With cheeky sayings, the suspended professional made fun of his situation in his new column “Schlag den Max”. After an unsuccessful shot, he says: “You can tell that I’ve been suspended for a few days.” Together with his wife Dilara, the 34-year-old presented the new section on the “Die Kruses” channel, in which he competes with guests. For the first episode he invited the former Rostock and Wolfsburg player Kevin Pannewitz, who was once predicted to have a great career – but he never had a breakthrough.
In the first episode of the format, both dueled in target shooting and free kicks, among other things. There was no shortage of provocative jokes: When his wife Dilara asked him if the goalkeeper’s warm-up was not his job, he replied: “I’ve done it more often now, but I’m slowly trying to concentrate on other things again.” Both alluded to the thankless task at VfL of warming up the goalkeeper.
