Dresden (dpa / sn) – According to union information, almost 500,000 people in Saxony will benefit from the increase in the minimum wage. Around 28 percent of employees in the Free State are entitled to the statutory minimum wage, the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) announced on Tuesday. The minimum wage will be raised to 12 euros per hour on October 1st. At the same time, the DGB called for the expansion of controls. Minimum wage fraud is not a trivial offense. So far, the statutory lower wage limit has been EUR 10.45 gross per hour.
