Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – The number of members at Eintracht Frankfurt has reached a record high. Club president Peter Fischer announced at the general meeting of the Bundesliga soccer club and Europa League winner on Monday evening in the sports center in Riederwald that the number had grown from 110,000 at the end of June to 115,112 now.
Fischer declared war on 1. FC Köln, which has around 4,000 more members. “We’ll get you! We’ll overtake you!” announced the 66-year-old in front of almost 800 listeners at the meeting. Eintracht is one of the ten sports clubs with the most members in Germany and, according to its own statements, was the only large club that was able to grow during the corona pandemic.
