Schwerin (dpa/mv) – According to the police, 4,500 people again demonstrated loudly against the consequences of the energy crisis and high inflation in Schwerin on Monday. This was announced by a police spokesman in the evening when asked by the dpa. As in the previous week, the speeches were primarily directed against the policy of the federal government, with which it is trying to overcome the energy crisis triggered by the Russian war of aggression. Among other things, the demand was for the sanctions against Russia to be lifted, the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to be put into operation, an end to arms deliveries to Ukraine and negotiations with Russia. The demand for the resignation of Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) received the most applause in the evening.

Individual participants also showed solidarity with Russia and the right-wing extremist “Brothers of Italy”, who were successful in the parliamentary elections in Italy on Sunday.
