Seven people, including a baby, were killed by a Russian strike in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine, the government of kyiv announced on Sunday August 13. “Russia killed six people in the Kherson region,” Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klymenko said. The shelling caused the death of three adults and a 23-day-old baby in the locality of Shyroka Balka, as well as two other people in that of Stanislav.

In the locality of Stanislav, two men were killed and one person was injured. “The terrorists must be stopped. They must be stopped by force,” the minister continued.
Kherson is one of four regions of Ukraine which Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed for annexation in September 2022. It is now under Ukrainian control but is however regularly the target of Russian bombardments.
